why the torch will go up to the top after I start to cut?

Thank you for your support to SteelTailor, the reasons that THC goes up is the THC can’t receive the right arc voltage signal, you should check as below:
  1. 1. Check if you connect the DIV ARC+&DIV ARC- in wrong direction, so you can exchange the two wires to test, if this doesn’t work, see the step 2.
  2. 2. Do you connect the raw arc voltage signal to DIV ARC+&DIV ARC-? It should be between 50v-300v, some plasma give out divided arc voltage, if you connect this to our machine, the THC will always go up.
  3. 3. I the two steps above can’t resolve your problem, you should test if the terminals which you connect the DIV ARC+&DIV ARC- are right. The terminal which you connect to the DIV ARC+ should be conductive with the electrode, and the terminal which you connect to the DIV ARC- should be conductive with the metal plate that you want to cut, you can use a multimeter to test, if not thus, please check if you connect to the wrong terminals.
If your problem persists after you do all the steps above, please give more detailed information to us, we will help to find out the reason.

How to adjust the parameters of the THC when I cut different thickness plate.

Thank you for your support to steeltailor, there are eight parameters with THC, you don’t need to change most of them when you cut different thickness plate, maybe you need to adjust A and b, A is the arc voltage, some user manual of plasma gives the arc voltage according to the thickness of plate, see the chart below, it is from powermax45, it tell you the voltage, so you can set, but some doesn’t give you the voltage, only give you the torch-to-work distance, this time you need to test the proper A value, different A value refers to different distance, it changes with the plasma, you need to find out the proper value, it is not hard; b value refers to the initial pierce height, but it is not initial pierce height, the default value of b is 9, refers to about 4mm, if you want to increase the height, you increase b, test and find the proper value. We suggest you don’t change other parameters.

I can’t get right g-code program in cutting software, why?

If you confirm you can use cutting software to convert other drawing into g-code program, but when you convert certain drawings, you can’t get right g-code program, the probable cause is there is something wrong with you drawing, such as overlap, the outline is not closed, please check your drawing with AutoCAD, I give an example, see the picture “cncCUT error”, when you open the drawing, it gives some hint, see what I marked with a red rectangle, those will not show if your drawing is ok, so you can check in AutoCAD, actually there is a overlap. See the picture “FastCAM error”, when you finish adding cutting path, you can see the problem, see what I marked with a red rectangle, needless lead-in and lead-out, so we know there is something wrong with the drawing, of course you can verify the cutting path with FastPLOT and you will find the problem. So, once you find problem in cutting software, check you drawing in AutoCAD will be the necessary step.

When we want to transfer g-code program, we got a “USB CONNECTION ERROR”.

When you got this message, we need some information and we suggest you check these:
  1. Is the usb flash disk the one we sent with the machine?
  2. Did the machine read usb flash disk well ever, before this happened, what did you do to the usb disk and the machine?
  3. Is your USB disk in FAT or FAT32 format? This is import, we suggest you format your USB disk into FAT immediately and then have a try.
  4. Open the housing of the central unit and plug the usb flash disk directly into the controller. And you can see there is an USB port at the back of the controller with a cable, unplug the cable.
  5. Sometimes computer virus is the reasons of the failure, so we suggest you format your usb flash disk on other computer and have a try.
  6. Your usb flash disk is damaged, change other usb flash disk and format them into FAT then have a try.
  7. Test the power voltage of the controller, see if it is too low or too high, it should be 24VDC.
  8. Make sure all grounding terminals are grounded.
